Pilates rings (also known as a magic circle) are commonly used in Pilates to add intensity to floor exercises. The ring's resistance speeds up toning by targeting specific muscles. Especially useful in problem areas like the inner and outer thighs, upper arms, the chest and even the pelvic muscles.
The Pilates Ring provides gentle to moderate resistance in an exercise and is not supposed to be squeezed so hard that the ring edges touch each other. Instead, Pilates Ring is thought to be mindfully integrated into the body to support or challenge during exercises. It is usually used under gentle tension to active muscles. While building strength it may also be squeezed hard for increased resistance.
This lightweight ring has both inner and outer grips and a foam padded ring for extra comfort. The core material is flexible plastic so the resistance is fractionally lighter than traditional Pilates Rings that are made of metal.
