LifeStraw Activated Carbon Filters removes chemicals, such as chlorine and odours, from water.

It is important to replace the activated carbon filter every now and then, to keep your LifeStraw working properly. Each activated carbon filter lasts up to 100 litres of water with proper use and maintenance. You can change the filter easily yourself.

The carbon filter replacements are compatible with all LifeStraw Go Water Bottles, LifeStraw Universal, and LifeStraw Steel.

The activated carbon has been treated with specific processes to open millions of tiny pores between carbon atoms. LifeStraw uses an advanced, special formulation that is made from fibres instead of traditional granulated carbon which improves longevity and performance. This process works via adsorption - contaminants become trapped inside the pore structure of the carbon and bind to the surfaces of the fibres. Over time, once all surface areas are full, the carbon filter must be replaced.
