Moving around with hiking skis is faster than with regular snowshoes. The skis are wide enough to support the skier on top of the snow and thus require less energy. Twin tip ski is easy to use in deep snow and makes moving backwards possible, and tapering tail adds the facility of controlling.
The good grip of the ski moderates speed appropriately but does not prevent sliding. The hiking skis also have the same steel edges as traditional downhill skis. Thanks to this, they are easy to control on icy slopes. Altai Hok skis work best together with Pivot bindings, which are pre-installed.
Pivot bindings
Pivot binding has a hinge structure. The bandage is compatible with most shoes, such as hiking boots, rubber boots or winter sneakers. Easy to adjust. Pivot bandage is suitable for shoe sizes 35–47.5. You don't need tools to adjust the length of the bindings.
Maintenance: Altai Hok skis require only little maintenance. If the base starts to look dry, you can put ski wax on it. Skins can be maintained with silicone spray or skin wax. Do not heat the base of the ski!
